22 Mar The TB Advisory Service
The same group of practices have collaborated together to secure the government contract for the delivery of the second-generation TB Advisory Service (TBAS) to help those farmers in England that need more help and guidance in ways to reduce the threat of TB on their farms. This now includes farmers of non-bovine animals that may be involved in the spread of bTB and, for the first time, covers the whole of England.
The well-established TB Advisory Service team, led by Sarah Tomlinson, looks forward to engaging with many more vet practice teams to get more support onto farm and help provide farmers with practical tools and tips that will help continue to turn the tide with TB. Fair rates for advisory visits and follow up calls have been agreed and it will now become possible for any vet seeking to provide these services to their clients to access training and deliver the advice in their area. This includes a proportion of badger surveys where appropriate. If you, or your veterinary colleagues, would like to find out more about getting involved with the TB Advisory Service, then please email the Farmcare
team at [email protected] to register your interest. The TBAS team will get back to you in due course.
